NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

The Village of Lakeview, Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing for a Variance application, Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024, at 5:30 PM at the Village of Lakeview Fire Department Building, located at 540 CR 270, Lakeview, OH 43331. Joseph LaMonte is requesting a variance to build an accessory building on parcel, 47-017-18-13-005-000, located at 315 W. Harrison St., in Lakeview, OH 43331, which is zoned R-2, a medium-density residential district. There is no single-family dwelling on this parcel which is why a variance is needed. He has a land purchase agreement in place with the parcel owner, Jordan Bush.

The Council of the Village of Lakeview is accepting letters of intent for anyone interested in filling the vacant Council seat.  All letters of intent need to be received by September 20, 2024.  You can mail them to the Village of Lakeview, PO Box 197, Lakeview, OH 43331, ATTN: Heather Kegg, or drop them off in the Utility Office, ATTN: Heather Kegg.  The Council will review all letters and appoint a new member at the regular Council Meeting on October 7, 2024.  If alternate date should be needed for any reason, it will be October 21, 2024.

FEMA opened a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) to assist homeowners with applying for federal assistance at the Galilee Lutheran Church in Russells Point.  Hours are Monday through Saturday 7am to 5pm. Reservations are not necessary. Fed Declaration DR4777

SBA opened a Business Recovery Center at the Indian Lake Community Church in Russells Point. Hours are Monday-Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturdays 10-2.  Deadline for physical damage claims is July 1, 2024.  Deadline for economic Injury claims is February 3, 2025.  Ohio declaration 20312 & 20313

Logan County households impacted by the March 14 tornado that ripped through the Indian Lake region are invited to apply for financial assistance through United Way's Indian Lake Tornado Relief Fund. Intake will occur by appointment only at the Multi-Agency Resource Center established for tornado victims, which is moving to 431 Madison Avenue in Russells Point. Victims can schedule an appointment by calling (937) 592-2886.

 

 

Financial assistance is available for needs including:

 

  • Housing expenses, including rent, mortgage, security deposit, hotel expenses
  • Home repair, including insurance deductible
  • Auto expenses, including car repair, car payment, down payment, insurance deductible
  • Prescription Medication
  • Utilities
  • Student hardship fees
  • Pet care
  • Other living expenses as deemed appropriate during in-take

 

Appointments will occur at the Multi-Agency Resource Center in conjunction with other state and local agencies so that victims can bundle and maximize the help they can receive. Residents needing transportation to an appointment can call Lift Delivery at 937-722-1347 for a free ride.

Bid Packets are available for the Village of Lakeview Lead Service Line Inventory Project.  We are accepting proposals until September 15, 2023.  The bid opening will be held September 18, 2023 at 5:30pm in the Council chambers.  Packets may be picked up in the Utilty Office.  Any questions should be directed to Dave Scott, Village Administrator.  (dscott@lakeviewohio.com, 937-843-9152)
